Qs Frederic Nyaminani have been in quantity surveying and project management aspects during his working life. When he was young, he had an interest in the construction industry as well as accounting and law. Hence, quantity surveying and project management seemed to encompass all of those interests for him.
According to Qs Frederic, the Cost of your construction project is not just about the price. Qs Frederic Nyaminani is an experienced professional Quantity Surveyor with a master’s degree in Construction Project Management obtained from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT-Nairobi/Kenya). He also possesses a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying from the former Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), currently known as the College of Science and Technology (CST)of the University of Rwanda.
Mr Frederic holds over 10 years of practical expertise in the field, registered under the Rwanda Institute of Quantity Surveyors with practice License No. RIQS/2017/PrQS/0006. He is currently the Vice-Chairperson of the Rwanda Institute of Quantity Surveyors (RIQS). Frederic is very passionate about his profession, to this end, he has developed professional cooperation with the Africa Association of Quantity Surveyors (AAQS) as well as other Quantity Surveying associations in the region such as the Tanzania Institute of Quantity Surveyor (TIQS), Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK) as well as Institution of Surveyors of Uganda /QS chapter.
Mr. Frederic draws on skills acquired from different big private and public organizations that he served during the last ten (10) years in field of Quantity Surveying and Project Management. He has served either as client’s, consultant’s or contractor’s staff on construction projects of various magnitudes such as airports, buildings, roads, stadium, hospitals etc. He started his career at Quest Africa Ltd (Architectural Consulting firm) as an assistant Quantity Surveyor and he expanded his career growth at the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA) in Engineering and Maintenance department (Government entity). He further pursued his career growth in contracting/ construction firms such as Real Contractors Ltd and HYGEBAT Ltd. He also undertook some consultancy services on a project basis with other architectural and engineering consulting firms such as HICE CONSULT LTD, TECOS LTD, CASE CONSULTANTS LTD, STUDIO4 ARCHITECTS, ARDELAND LTD, ARCHI-TIVE DESIGNS LTD , UNITED CONTRACTORS LTD, TALENT CONTRACTORS LTD etc
Since 2022, He shared his knowledge as a part-time Assistant lecturer at University of Rwanda (UR) , College of Science and Technology(CST) , School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE), in the department of Construction Economics and Management ( CEM) focusing on modules related to the Quantity surveying and Construction management.
His research interests encompass front-end construction project management with emphasis to teamwork and inter-dependency and collaboration among construction professionals. Frederic is also a member of the task force formed by the ministry of infrastructure to foster the collaboration between professional bodies and the Government of Rwanda.
